Welcoming All Bangladeshis to “Amra Positive”

November 8th, 2009

I promised to release “Amra Positive” soon, today i’m announcing the release of this small application that is developed for Bangladeshis. Let me give you some ideas about the application first…. [i'm just coping the “about” page from the application]

“amra positive” is a place for Bangladeshis to leave good and positive news about Bangladesh, friends, family, events etc. no pressure, but it’s up to you to leave something good behind within 150 characters. there is no moderator to modulate your posts in this application. if you don’t like to post or don’t have anything to say, you can still vote on others; posts. so let’s have a look what you can do here…

  • you can post a message about the country, your friends or family, events that you liked or think is positive

  • you can vote on your own posts and others’ posts. currently there is no commenting system. you can only vote positive or negative about a post.

  • you can tweet a post if you like. links will be automatically shortened, you don’t have to worry about that.

  • you can check posts that were voted the most positive from users from “top10″ tab

  • as an owner of the post, you have access to delete it

  • you can check all your past/previous posts by clicking the “authors” tab or by clicking your nick name

  • clicking on a message will show that specific post in an individual page

  • you have to use your gmail id to sign in. please note: that password is not shared with the admin of this application, only the gmail id is shared. so there is nothing to worry about

  • all text in this site in lowercase to make it look a little bit more different.

An Excellent Day and A Guilty…

April 15th, 2009

Today was bangla new year (1416), and at least for this day I don’t stay at home. Last year I was in my hometown sylhet. I wrote a blog on last year’s experience though it was mostly about my bald head fun :) This year I stayed here in dhaka and went out with friends. Place was banani, where a new year fair was organized by AIUB. My friend had  “Rgb Unmad” stall so we all were chilling there. Intension? Well, of course all beautiful girls with sharees ;)

Anyways, this is one of our best cultures that brings all Bangladeshis together. Probably, this is why I like “pohela boishakh” or Bangla new year so much. I was glad to see a successful event organized by AIUB. Whole day was fun…..let’s look at some pictures. Though these pictures don’t show the actual joys but still….

Biscope, still here!

Chondona

And right picture was taken when event was over and we were gossiping. Difference between them? Right one you see, her name is “chondona” , she collects empty bottles and sale them for food. I asked how much she actually earn from these empty bottles. 6-7 tk, she said. Only 6/7 tk? Didn’t say anything to her, I looked at my cigarette that was in my hand. That was cost 5 taka. I was leaving them in the air with lots of peace in my mind eh? On the other hand chondona, collects these bottles and then she walks a mile to sale them…and then she gets 6-7 taka – sigh!

Life in Bangladeshi Villages…

December 11th, 2008

I’m having a great EID (Eid-ul-adha) so far. In fact, this EID is being one of the best Eid of my whole life. This year I decided to spend my Eid day with my village people. Have to mention, my village is located in Sunamganj District which is a real rural place, no electricity, no gas and no good communication system and I guess my village represent the Bangladeshi villages as almost all Bangladeshi villages are like this one.

Spent 2 days in my village, not only the Eid was my target but also wanted to be with these people and wanted to see how they spend their daily life. It’s nothing new to me but this was something for me to realize on a new way. From my current and previous experience with village people,I have noticed some interesting informations about village life in Bangladesh, if you are not familiar with these you can have a look…

Village people do a lots of physical work

Village people do a lots of physical work

  • Their one generation lose everything (i.e. wealth, property etc..) and next generation comes and tries to re-build it, and the next generation comes and they do the same mistake again. This is how the cycle works there. Why people make the same mistake? Because, they work just because they have to, they have to get rice to eat, this is the reason why they move their asses, otherwise they would love to sleep at home! They have to give their sister marry, this is why they have to earn and save some money.
  • Middle east is the place for village people to be rich. This is where from most of the BIG income come for village people. Those who have someone in UK/USA are known as most unique and most rich people in the village!
  • Those who have money, will never save it in the bank, they will buy lands! Land is the main delicious and most important stuff for village people.
  • 99% people sleep before 10pm and wake up before 6am!
  • 95% families have hens and ducks
  • Middle class family have cows
  • There are too much grouping in village people, mainly for lands and they mainly fight for land.
  • I just feel they don’t have proper/accurate idea about religion.
  • They love to talk loudly, but except mouth word there is no sound pollution!
  • They respect educated people.
  • They like to show up (I.e. spreading all over what they have he he)
  • They complain very less!
  • Their desire is too less. Most of them don’t even have any desire.
  • They love their guest.
  • They eat real fresh food!
  • Village people don’t need any physical exercise, as they do physical work everyday!
  • Solar Electricity is getting popular among Bangladeshi village people
  • They do a lots of comments while watching TV :)
  • Village women are very neglected, they are very caring about their husband but they don’t receive the same care from their husband!
  • They live very simple life and above all, I love village people!

do you have experience with any Bangladeshi village? Please share with me….
